2.4 will be first "stable branch" of audacious2

hi guys,

2.4 will be the first "stable branch" of audacious2. we recommend that distributions stick with it unless they have some reason to upgrade past 2.4 until we do another stable branch, probably next year.

this means that once 2.4 is released, it will receive backports of bugfixes and non-invasive feature additions from the development tree. this means that you should *test* it now and report bugs to our JIRA instance.

We have frozen the API/ABI for plugins building against audacious 2.4. The new API/ABI version is 16.

beta1 is presently being staged (final call for changesets) and will be available on the distfiles server shortly.

I get the following error compiling 2.4-beta1:

Just to add that alpha1 compiled, while alpha2 returned the same error.

Make sure you have any previous version completely uninstalled before trying to compile a new one.
